Autumn Sunrise Hat

Image
Autumn Sunrise Hat This is one of the simplest hats I have ever knitted! It's a double-layered hat, so it is very warm and cozy. I sewed a pom pom to it, however it does not need one, if you prefer. Pom poms with attached elastic can be buttoned on as well, for easy removal for washing your hat. What you need: 16" circular knitting needles, size 4.5 mm or 5mm  Tapestry Needle, Stitch Marker,  , and a pair of scissors. 2 skeins of any #4 Medium Worsted Weight yarn.  For the hat shown, I used one ball of Red Heart Soft, in the color Mandarin, and one ball of Lion Brand Landscapes , in the color, Volcano.  These are both 100% Acrylic Yarns, so they are safe for Charity knitting. Gauge:  21 stitches and 26 rows = 4" swatch, with 4.5 mm needles and #4 Worsted Weight Yarn Pattern: Casting On:  I used the long tail method, and made sure there was plenty of yarn left as a tail in order to sew up the edge. [About 12 inches.] Child: cast on 54 stitches. Adult, ...
