Cast on a multiple of 18 Stitches

Row 1 [RS] Knit across

Row 2 [WS] Purl across

Row 3 [RS] *[K2tog] 3 times; [yo, k1] 6 times; [K2tog] 3 times; Repeat from * to end

Row 4 [WS] Knit across [this creates a ridge-like separation between the pattern motifs]

Repeat Rows 1-4 until desired length. 

An adult size Scarf, for example, is usually approximately 60".

Finishing Rows

After Row 2 [purl row], do Row 3, and then:

Next Row: Knit 

Next Row: Purl 

Next Row: Bind off, knit-wise.

Cast on 108 Stitches with 5 mm Knitting Needles

Work Rows 1-4, and Finishing Rows as shown.
